Business Introduction of the International Teaching Centre of Beijing Foreign Enterprises Service Group Co.,Ltd.(FESCO)
This Centre was established in November, 1979, it is a professional teaching institution which was authorized by the Beijing Municipal Government to provide language training and other teaching services for the overseas friends who are working, studying and stationed in Beijing. The Centre's business is recognized and supported by the Ministry of Education and the National Leadership Group of Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language. Over 13,000 overseas students from several tens of countries and regions in the world have been trained here, and the number of total classes were as high as more than one million for the past 20 years.
Nowadays, several thousands of students are registered here and studying here annually. This centre enjoys high prestige both at home and abroad for its rich teaching experience, satisfactory teaching environment, and unique way of teaching and practical teaching contents.
1/ Teachers
The centre has more than 300 full-time and part-time teachers with rich teaching experience, among them, there are many linguists, calligraphers, painters and folk artists and crafts masters. Especially the teachers of Chinese language, they bear good foreign language, as well as the certificates of Mandarin grades issued by the National Language Working Committee.
2/ Curriculum
a. Chinese: Mandarin ( Putonghua ), dialects ( Shanghai Dialect, Cantonese ), HSK guidance.
b. Foreign languages: English, Japanese, French, German. Italian, Arabian etc.
c. Art Courses: Music instruments both Chinese and Western, vocal music, dancing, Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, seal cutting.
d. Physical Culture: Chinese Wushu / Qigong, Swimming, Tennis etc.
e. Practical Skills: Chinese massage, acupuncture and moxibustion, embroidery, making Qipao, Cooking, Chinese tea ceremony, pottery etc.
3/ Ways of teaching:
a. Lectures to be given on the location and time in accordance with student's preference.
b. Lectures to be given in FESCO's classroom: the centre will arrange classes as per the students levels and requirements, or the student can join " one to one class " (one teacher for one student ).The students are welcome to enter study and choose any one of the above alternatives of teaching ways.
4/ Teaching conditions:
This centre is located on the 3rd floor of FESCO building which is situated in the embassy area of Chaoyang District with convenient traffic. In the centre, there are " one to one " small classrooms, group classrooms and multi - media AV classroom.
The library is always available for the students to find studying materials.
5/ Other optional services:
a. Chinese level test can be offered free of charge as per the student's requirement.
b. To buy and mail studying materials (books or tapes) on behalf of the students.
c. To provide students some guidance material written by the experts of the centre at irregular interval.
d. To liaison some hotel with favorite terms for the students.
e. To provide shuttle bus picking - up service to the centre for group studying.
f. To assist the visa application in China.
g. To issue some certificates for the students.
h. To organize students to join seminars hosted by the centre on the subject of Chinese culture, history, folk customs etc.To organize some extracurricular activities such as sightseeing and visiting Chinese families for the students.
